چکیده

Considering the effect of heat input tungsten inert gas (TIG) arc welding for T-joint thin-walled parts aluminum alloy 6061-T6, here, characteristics are analyzed via finite element method. The experiments carried out using scanning electron microscope (SEM), optical (OM), and tensile test specimens to investigate microstructure variation weld zone (WZ), heat-affected (HAZ), base metal (BM), mechanical properties T-welded joint. joint explored assessed combined with in terms yield strength, Vickers hardness. Furthermore, effects different currents on penetration under deformation thoroughly investigated, appearance porosity incomplete fusion defects joints clearly illustrated. results show that strength joints, respectively, account less than 37% 74% (BM) strength. Moreover, depth deeply affected by current. maximum is achieved at about 2.18 mm current, partial emerged, affecting reducing welded It expected these will provide an analysis foundation optimization process, suppression defects, promotion future.

Effect of welding parameters on penetration depth in FB-TIG welding of 5083 aluminum alloy

In the present study, effect of current, welding speed and preheat temperature during FB-TIG welding of AA5083 aluminum alloy was studied. Using the Taguchi method, 9 different tests were designed to investigate the effect of welding parameters on the penetration depth. Consistent with predictions, increasing the current and preheat temperature, and reducing the welding speed led to an increase...

Trace generation of friction stir welding robot for space weld joint on large thin-walled parts

Purpose – The weld joint of large thin-wall metal parts which deforms in manufacturing and clamping processes is very difficult to manufacture for its shape is different from the initial model; thus, the space normals of the part surface are uncertain. Design/methodology/approach – In this paper, an effective method is presented to calculate cutter location points and to estimate the space norm...

Numerical and Experimental Study of Geometrical Dimensions on Laser-TIG Hybrid Welding of Stainless Steel 1.4418

In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element model has been developed to simulate the laser-TIG hybrid welding (HLAW) of stainless steel 1.4418 with thickness of 4 mm. Transient temperature profile and dimensions of the fusion zone and heat affected zone (HAZ) during welding process are calculatedusing finite element method (FEM) and were solved in the ABAQUS/Standard software. The heat sou...

The effect of activating fluxes on 316L stainless steel weld joint characteristic in TIG welding using the Taguchi method

Gas tungsten arc welding is fundamental in those industries where it is important to control the weld bead shape and its metallurgical characteristics. However, compared to the other arc welding process, the shallow penetration of the TIG welding restricts its ability to weld thick structures in a single pass (~ 2 mm for stainless steels), thus its productivity is relativity low. This is why th...
